Marissa Menéndez is a Cuban American singer/songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. She is a soulful pop artist who combines powerhouse vocals with her Latina influence and athletic background to promote self-expression and give a voice to those who feel they have none. As an up-and-coming artist, Marissa Menéndez aspires to continue to build her music career and is currently writing her first single to be released in 2025.
Growing up, Marissa played many sports including softball, basketball, swimming, and eventually DI soccer in college while earning a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After tearing her ACL for the third time in 2023, Marissa could no longer play sports and decided to turn from being an athlete to a singer. She started doing karaoke for fun in local bars around the St. Louis area before deciding to enter a karaoke competition. From there, she quickly moved through each round and placed in the top 2 for the Missouri State Championship, earning her a spot in the World Finals hosted on the Las Vegas strip. Marissa placed 8th in her first singing competition out of 17,000+ contestants.
Since then, Marissa has performed at the Luxor Hotel on the Vegas strip, the National Blues Museum, and small local bars around the St. Louis area, as well as singing in multiple competitions. She also sang the National Anthem in front of 10,000+ at Fairmount Park Racetrack and several MLS Next matches, including the Semifinals.
